Notification profiles

Sets of voice alerts you can switch between in a tap: which alerts are spoken, with built-in profiles and your own.

Updated October 31, 2026

A notification profile decides which alerts are spoken. Switch profiles and every voice announcement changes at once; tones and the signal card are not affected.

Menu → Settings → Alerts → Notification profiles, or the speaker button on the "Where to?" bar for the quick picker. CarPlay lists the profiles too.

Built-in and yours#

Tap a profile to use it; the one In use is marked. The built-in profiles are Silent (all voice alerts off), Essential (radar and navigation), Standard (radar, navigation, cameras, police reports, traffic) and Everything (adds police vehicle matches). Create a profile makes your own, starting from what is on right now, with a name and an icon; the ⋯ menu on a row has Edit, Duplicate and Delete.

What a profile can speak#

  • Radar & laser detector alerts
  • Navigation instructions
  • Speed cameras, Red light cameras, Plate-reader cameras
  • Police reports & marks
  • Police vehicle matches
  • Traffic delay alerts
  • Phone overheating warnings (off in every built-in profile; the warning banner still shows)

The laser jammer alarm is always spoken and is not part of profiles.

  • Voice speed, tones and announcement distances: Sound.
  • Whether a radar alert is spoken with its direction, band and frequency: Radar voice alerts under Alert filtering.
