Alert filtering
Everything the app does on top of the detector to keep false alerts quiet: speed-aware muting, intelligent muting, auto-mute rules, mute zones, the 5G filter, adaptive sensitivity and force unmute.
Alert filtering is the layer between the detector and your ears. The detector's own filters live on the Detector page; these settings are the app's.

These settings are saved in the profile and take effect when the profile is applied, so each detector profile can filter differently.
Speed-aware muting#
Quiet while you drive slowly. Choose Below the speed limit or Below a fixed speed and set the speed, then pick the bands it applies to: X, K, Ka, Ku, MRCD photo radar, Laser. On a Uniden this sets Quiet Ride; on a Valentine One the app mutes.
Intelligent muting#
Weak signals go quiet after the first alert and speak again if they become a threat (see Force unmute).
Auto-mute rules#
Rear, side and time mutes per band, blind-spot-monitor filters (signatures for common car makes) and snooze. Each rule has its own page.
Mute zones#
K and X signals heard repeatedly at the same place are muted there automatically. Ka and laser are never muted this way. Choose how tightly a place matches: Precise, Balanced or Flexible. Manage mute zones opens the list and map; see Mute zones. Advanced lockouts sets how many times a signal must be heard before it is learned (3 by default, 2 to 10) and the matching distances.
Cameras and interference#
- Mute at known speed cameras: your detector stays quiet at a fixed speed camera the app already knows; the camera alert still shows.
- Ignore 5G interference: silences the weak one-bar Ka signals (33.478–33.481 GHz) that 5G towers produce.
Adaptive sensitivity#
Lower sensitivity among buildings, higher on open roads: Relaxed, Original, Full or Custom levels. Sent only while no alert is active. The building density it reads is shown under Signal environment.
Detector mode by speed#
Valentine One only. Switch mode by speed moves between All Bogeys, Logic and Advanced Logic as your speed crosses a threshold (Fixed speed or Posted limit + offset), with a few mph of slack so it does not flip back and forth.
Detector control#
Auto dark mode and Auto volume quiet the detector itself for muted alerts. Turn on External volume control when another device manages the detector's audio. Show Bluetooth indicator controls the detector's own display.
Voice and force unmute#
- Radar voice alerts: speak each new radar alert with its direction, band and frequency.
- Strong signals override Quiet Ride and Force unmute: a muted signal at or above this strength speaks again. Applies to speed-aware and intelligent muting.
