Data & privacy
What SpectreNav shares (anonymous signal data, one switch), what stays on the phone, and how to delete what was uploaded.
Menu → Settings → Data → Data & privacy.

No accounts#
There is no sign-in. Your history, fingerprints, mute zones, profiles, reports and wallet live on the phone. Nothing syncs between devices; on iPhone, Backup copies the store to your own iCloud Drive.
What is shared#
One switch: Share Data to Improve SpectreNav. When it is on, signal encounters are uploaded anonymously: the readings a radar alert produced (band, frequency, strength, direction, position, speed), tied to a random device ID and never to your identity. The upload runs in North America. Turn the switch off to stop new uploads; data already on the servers is unaffected until you delete it.
The first-launch recap page says the same thing on its "Your data" card.
How your data is used#
Smarter detection, coverage everywhere, better for all drivers, always anonymous: the readings train the models that estimate where a signal comes from and how far away it is, and the learned false-alert and police hotspot data.
Your data#
Request Data Deletion permanently removes every signal encounter record linked to your device ID from the servers. It asks to confirm and cannot be undone. Your phone's own history is not touched; delete the app to remove that, which also resets the device ID.
Other things that leave the phone#
- Camera reports you submit for review, by your choice.
- Routes you ask for with camera avoidance: the start, destination and options go to the routing service.
- Web integrations and the Carputer talk to the services you configure.
- Diagnostics logs are exported only when you share them.
