Route options
Avoid plate-reader, speed and red-light cameras, tolls and highways by default or per trip, and understand what Camera-free means.
Menu → Settings → Map & navigation → Navigation sets the defaults for every new route. The route preview lets you change them for one trip.

Avoid cameras#
Pick the camera types a route should stay clear of: Plate-reader cameras, Speed cameras, Red-light cameras. Routes that avoid cameras come from the SpectreNav routing service and may be longer.
Avoid tolls and highways#
Standard avoidances, applied to every alternative.
Camera-free and Fastest#
When you ask to avoid cameras, the routing service returns the fastest route and, where it can, one that avoids the chosen types. Each alternative carries a label (Camera-free or Fastest) and the number of cameras on it by type, so you can see the trade-off before you go. If the fastest route is already clear, you get one route. If no clear route exists within reason, the Camera-free route is the one with the fewest cameras, and its count tells you how many remain.
Cameras still alert during navigation from the database on your phone, whatever route you take.
Voice and traffic#
- Voice guidance: spoken turn-by-turn directions.
- Traffic delay alerts: Speak delay alerts and Suggest faster routes (2, 5 or 10 minutes saved).
Favorites#
Favorites opens Home, Work and your saved places. They also appear at the top of the "Where to?" sheet and on CarPlay.
