Alert tones#

A sound for each radar band: X, K, Ka, Ku and Laser. Each tone repeats faster as the signal gets stronger, on the same cadence a Valentine One uses. A tone can be used by one band at a time; choosing a tone already in use moves it. Pick None to show a band silently.

Audio output#

Where announcements play. Automatic (recommended) prefers CarPlay and good Bluetooth audio and avoids routing to things like a GPS unit; Preferred device always uses a device you pick when it is connected; System default follows whatever the phone is using. iPhone only.

Voice#

  • Voice speed and Preview alert, which plays a front Ka alert at that speed so you can set the volume.
  • Mute during calls.

Announcement distance#

How far ahead cameras and reports are announced: the First announcement and Second announcement distances.

When the app is in the background#

A notification for each band you pick while another app is open. The app keeps alerting while it is in the background and on CarPlay; these notifications are for the lock screen and other apps. Allow notifications on first launch or in the phone's settings.

If you hear nothing#

  1. The band's tone is not None.
  2. The phone's volume is up and the Audio output device is right.
  3. The notification profile in use speaks that kind of alert.
  4. The alert is not muted: look for a mute badge on the signal card and check Alert filtering.
  5. The detector is connected.
