Layers

Choose what the map shows: cameras and reports, traffic and weather, aircraft, and the radar overlays.

The Layers button at the bottom left of the map opens a sheet of tiles. Each tile is a switch.

The Layers sheet
Cameras & reports, Traffic & weather, Aircraft and Radar overlays

Cameras & reports#

  • Speed & red light cameras: fixed cameras from the camera database.
  • Plate readers: ALPR cameras.
  • Police reports: reports from you and other drivers.
  • Traffic & accidents and Construction & road work: incident reports.

Traffic & weather#

  • Traffic flow: live congestion colouring on the roads.
  • Weather: weather alerts and a radar overlay. Tap the tile's detail to choose the layers and set Radar opacity; lower it until the roads show through. CarPlay keeps its own lighter setting under Options › Radar intensity.

Aircraft#

Aircraft tracking shows small aircraft overhead that may be timing traffic, from the source chosen under Menu → Settings → Devices & services → Integrations → Aircraft.

Radar overlays#

Where a live radar signal most likely comes from, spots you have classified, learned police hotspots and saved false-alert zones:

  • Likely source: during an alert, shades the roads where the source most likely is, from green to red.
  • Known sources: signals you have classified on past drives.
  • Police hotspots: places where police radar has been learned.
  • False-alert zones: learned mute areas.
  • Building outlines: the footprints the building-aware prediction uses.

The same switches live under Menu → Settings → More → Experimental, with the detection-range sliders.

Alert heat map#

The Alert heat map tile colours the map by how often you have been alerted there. Count muted alerts includes muted readings, and the minimum-hits stepper hides places you have only passed once or twice. The data behind it is the same as Statistics.
