Signal fingerprints
Signals the app has learned from your classifications and repeat detections, how they are matched, and how to change or remove one.
A fingerprint is a signal the app recognises: a band and frequency at a place, labelled as police, a camera or false.

Where fingerprints come from#
- Your classifications on an encounter: Police, Camera or False.
- Repeat detections: a K or X signal heard at the same place three times (adjustable) becomes a mute zone and a learned false fingerprint. Ka and laser are never learned as false.
- Live matching: while you drive, a signal that matches a learned police fingerprint, or a learned area, slides a short strip along the foot of the signal card, and is spoken when the notification profile speaks Police vehicle matches.
The list#
Open it from the Detection history toolbar. The View mode switch shows Classified fingerprints or those that need classification. Each row shows the band, frequency, label, when it was last seen and how far away it is, with a Learned badge for automatic ones. Tap a row for its detail and the encounters behind it; swipe to Delete.
What a fingerprint matches#
Band, frequency and place, not strength. A fingerprint learned in one town does not mute the same frequency elsewhere.
| Label | Alerts | On the muted signals map |
|---|---|---|
| Police | Always, and feeds the police hotspots layer | No |
| Camera | Yes | No |
| False | Muted at that place | Yes |
Privacy#
Fingerprints stay on the phone. With data sharing on, anonymous readings (not your labels) are uploaded; see Data & privacy.
