Pair a detector
Pair a Valentine One, Uniden R series or Radenso detector with SpectreNav over Bluetooth, check the connection and manage saved detectors.
SpectreNav talks to your detector over Bluetooth, shows each alert on the map and lets you change the detector's own settings from the phone. Pairing happens inside the app, not in the phone's Bluetooth settings.
Supported detectors#
| Brand | Models | How it shows up |
|---|---|---|
| Valentine One | V1 Gen2 | A name starting with V1. Bluetooth is on by default. |
| Uniden R series | R4, R4W, R8, R8W, R9, R9W | R… followed by an @ code. Turn Bluetooth on in the detector's menu first. |
| Radenso | DS1, Theia | The model name. Turn Bluetooth on in the detector's menu first. |
Other detectors may pair, but only these are tested. A laser jammer can run alongside any of them; see AL Priority.
Before you pair#
- Power the detector on and keep the phone within a few feet of it.
- On a Uniden or Radenso, switch Bluetooth on in the detector's menu.
- Disconnect any other app that is using the detector. A detector holds one Bluetooth connection at a time.
Pair#

- Open the Menu from the menu button on the "Where to?" bar and choose Detector.
- Switch to Devices and tap Pair a detector (or Add another detector if one is already saved).
- Choose the brand. The app lists what each one looks like in the scan, then shows nearby detectors.
- Tap yours. iOS asks to allow Bluetooth the first time.
The first launch offers the same flow when you answer "Yes, I'll pair it" on the detector page.
Check the connection#
The status strip along the bottom of the map carries a Detector chip that turns green when the detector is connected. The Configure segment of the Detector page shows the connection, voltage and the active profile at the top; while nothing is connected it reads "Not Connected" with a Pair a Detector button.
If the chip stays red or the card shows no signals, see Supported detectors for the reconnect steps.
Saved detectors#
Devices lists every detector you have paired under Saved detectors. The top one is your primary; if it is unavailable, the next one connects. Drag to reorder. Each saved detector has Connect / Disconnect, Rename (for example by the vehicle it lives in) and Forget detector.
I don't have a detector switches the app to GPS-only mode. Camera and police alerts, reports and navigation keep working without one.
Next step#
Your first drive covers what the home screen shows and what happens on the first alert.
